efishency Privacy Statement
Last updated: September 28, 2026
efishency uses information on your device to manage focus sessions, identify distracting pages, and grow your aquarium.
Information used during focus sessions
The extension accesses tab URLs and titles to apply focus rules. When needed for Local AI checks, it reads limited page information, including the main heading, a short description, and the YouTube channel name. The local model receives your focus task and relevant page metadata, which may include portions of the page’s address.
The page checker does not extract full articles or page bodies, read passwords or form entries, record keystrokes, or capture screenshots.
Local storage
Aquarium progress, focus statistics, settings, and session information are stored locally in your Chrome profile. Session information can include your task description and selected work sites. efishency does not use Chrome Sync to synchronize this information.
Temporary browser-session storage holds classification decisions, model status, and addresses used to return from blocked pages. These temporary records may remain after a focus session ends and are cleared when the browser session ends. Return-address records are also removed when their associated tab closes.
Local AI and downloads
Optional Local AI classification runs on your device. Your focus tasks and browsing information are not sent to a remote AI service for classification.
Enabling Local AI downloads model files from Hugging Face and its download infrastructure. These downloads expose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and requested model files, to the hosting providers. Downloaded model files are cached locally for reuse.
Sharing and advertising
efishency does not transmit your focus tasks, browsing information, or aquarium progress to the developer. It does not sell this information or use it for advertising. The extension does not include advertising or analytics tracking.
Permissions
efishency uses browser permissions to store progress, schedule session completion, detect page changes, read limited page metadata, redirect distracting pages, block embedded games, and host its local AI worker. These features support the extension’s focus-session functionality.
Your choices
Local AI is optional. Basic mode works without downloading the model. You can remove downloaded model files through the extension’s settings.
You can disable or uninstall efishency through Chrome’s extension controls. Uninstalling removes the extension’s Chrome local-storage data.
